Tomorrow night, Cedar Point Bar & Kitchen is doing a multi-course bacon dinner which will include vegan bacon with green tomato-jalepeno chutney, gumbo with pork belly (which totally counts as bacon) and shrimp, Texas Tommie sliders with bacon-wrapped pineapple, and Peanut Bacon Brittle for dessert.
Cedar Point does dinners like this every Thursday–choosing a single ingredient and building an entire menu around it. In the past, ingredients have included pumpkin, chestnuts, figs, apples, and squash. But this time around, they left the choosing up to their Facebook fans and when faced with a choice between onions, salt, garlic, jalapenos, chocolate, and bacon, the people, unsurprisingly, went with the delicious pig strips. Honestly, the options could’ve been hundred dollar bills, weed, foie gras, delicious tacos, uncut diamonds and bacon and most people still probably would’ve chosen bacon.
But hey, who are we to argue with the will of the people? The dinner is tomorrow night. Yes, there will be plenty of bacon. Make your plans now.
