GradHo Crime Spree (Kinda)

Over at Philly mag, our crack news team is reporting that at least two restaurants in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood were broken into last night or early this morning. Honey’s Sit ‘n Eat (shown above) got their door glass smashed in by an idiot with a brick who then tried to steal stuff, but failed.

And Resurrection Ale House also got hit in the same manner–glass smashed, lots of damage, nothing stolen. Because, apparently, some people apparently believe that restaurants just leave piles of cash sitting around on the counters all night.

Anyway, there’s some more information over at Also, we’ve heard that there might’ve been more places in the neighborhood hit last night, so if you know anything, shout it out in the comments section.

Does anyone anything about the gunshots fired and later arrest near the 2100 block of Naudain Street last night? I am not seeing any news coverage of it. I heard there was an attempted break-in at a house on the block, and the guy violently resisted arrest. I also heard that neighbors had reported gunshots (which I heard from 3 blocks away) before all of that went down. I’m wondering if it was the same guy who has been breaking into all these businesses in the neighborhood lately, but that might be wishful thinking.
