Tela’s Market and Kitchen Opens in Fairmount

Tela’s Market & Kitchen is now open at 19th and Fairmount. Owner Daniel Greenberg and chef Chad Williams have teamed up to open a market specializing in meat, seafood and prepared foods to eat at the market or to take home. A coffee bar serving Four Barrel espresso and coffee makes the corner an early morning destination as well. A once-weekly, 12-seat dinner table will make Tela’s (pronounced TEE-la’s) a dining star as well.

Owner Daniel Greenberg and Chef Chad Williams

Williams served as opening chef de cuisine at Amada and has recently returned to the area after some time on the West Coast. The chef’s weekly dinner table meals will satiate his fans from the Amada days. The dinners will be intimate gatherings with a roatating cast of friends, distillers, wine makers, brewers and more. Chef Williams will use these meals as “my opportunity to really have fun with the amazing ingredients we’ll be selling at the Market.”

Even if you don’t land a seat one of these Tela’s Dinner Table meals, there will be plenty of food to sample in the 2,800 food market. The market, cleanly decorated with subway tile walls and white marble, polished concrete floor and reclaimed wood accents, gives the corner space a lived-in vibe. 30-seats with an additional 40 outdoors are available for guests who want to eat on site.

Composed menu items will change frequently to reflect Chef Williams’ latest inspirations and  fresh ingredients. The opening menu is located below.

Beyond eat-in and take-away prepared dishes, Tela’s Market will also offer complete holiday menus. The Thanksgiving menu will be be the first special menu offered. The market will also offer catering as well as an event space.

The market will also offer an on-site butcher.
