Vedge Expanding To Rittenhouse

With their L.A. expansion plans currently on hold, Vedge owners Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby have just signed a lease for a new restaurant in Rittenhouse Square.

The address is 126 S. 19th Street–which, yes, is right next door to Zama and currently home to a pop-up boutique (Smak Parlour), but will soon to be the location for Vedge’s smaller, cooler and more casual little-sister restaurant.

So what do we know right now? Not a lot. The concept hasn’t been named yet. And all we have for an opening date is “Spring.” But Landau explains that the space is small (about 1000 square feet) and will be used to create “an upbeat, bar-centric hang for Philly foodies” which will feature a lot of the bolder and edgier dishes that currently populate Vedge’s daily “Dirt Lists”–their of-the-moment seasonal menus of snacks pulled right from the ground.

The new operation will be there to complement the upscale vibe of Vedge–giving a place to hang out to those who are looking for something a bit more casual and easy-going.
