C19 Shuts Down

A few weeks back, we heard a rumor that C19 in Rittenhouse Square was shutting down. So we did what we always do–made a couple calls, got one of the managers on the blower and asked him, point-blank, what was going on at the restaurant.

He told us that he had no idea what we were talking about, that there were no plans to shut the restaurant down and that we should really find better sources and be careful about what rumors we believe.

Yeah, well that was then. And today, we spotted the above sign on the door. Guess our sources were pretty good after all.

Still, on the upside, it looks like the owners might be looking for a new location–and, possibly, opening soon elsewhere. Which is good because I’m kinda missing C19’s meatballs and risotto a little bit already.

That sign has been posted for several weeks and the closure is a long time coming. The underwhelming food and drink were a waste of the great space and location.

The way the notice reads….sounds more like they plan to open a NEW concept in the same space and NOT move the old concept to a new space. On another note…Jason can you add a blog post that acts like a glossary for all of your douchey terminology…like “the blower”?!?
