James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Tour Is Hitting Philly

For those of you not already completely burned out on food festivals, there’s a big one coming up on Friday, October 4.

The James Beard Foundation Taste America Tour (a 10-city party meant to raise the non-awards-season profile of the venerable organization) is hitting Philly and bringing together a whole bunch of past award winners to do one, super-special VIP tasting dinner at Peche in East Falls. We’re talking Susanna Foo, Georges Perrier, Jean Marie Lacroix, Judy Wicks and Steve Poses, each of whom will be paired with one of their proteges and, together, they’ll be doing a four-course tasting menu with The Chew‘s Carla Hall preparing dessert. Nice, right?

For those who don’t aren’t interested in the full James Beard VIP Chef Experience (or who don’t want to plunk down $500 a head for the tickets), there’s also a general admission ticket ($200) that’ll put you on the floor with chefs from more than 20 of the best restaurants in town–everyone from Will’s Chris Kearse to Ben Puchowitz from Cheu Noodle Bar.

The big ticket gets you a VIP reception with all the chefs that starts at 6pm, follwed by a seated dinner at 6:45. The event opens to general admission ticket holders at 7pm. Check out the links below for all the event and ticketing details you could ever need.
