Drinking Beer On The Battleship New Jersey

It’s not that you can’t drink Dogfish Head, Firestone Walker or Oskar Blues at other beer festivals. You can–or at least at the really good ones. But you can’t drink these top brands at other beer fests on battleships – in the Mid-Atlantic, anyway – and that’s the difference between tomorrow’s third-annual MGK Brew Blast and other events: awesome beer in an awesome location.

As home to the Brew Blast and the annual Garden State Craft Brewers’ Guild fest, the Battleship New Jersey, berthed on the Camden waterfront, has gotten semi-popular for beer fests. While both are cool (and really, how can a beer festival on the Navy’s most decorated battleship not be?), MGK brings in beer from around the country while the brewers guild highlights New Jersey brews. Both get you a free tour and all the samples you can drink.

The fest tomorrow runs from 1-5 and costs $45. You can buy tickets at the door, and there will of course be a classic-rock band playing so you can sample more than 50 beers to the beat of the MGK house band.
