Headhouse Square’s The Twisted Tail is amidst its own little renaissance. Its original scathing reviews imprinted a below-average name to a place with a lot of potential, and then all was fixed. There’s a bunch of whiskey events happening this week at the southern food/whiskey and blue’s lovin’ joint (for National Bourbon Heritage Month), but there’s something that stands out among the rest:
On Wednesday, September 18th, Heaven Hill Distillery will partner with executive chef Leo Forneas for a four-course, $45 dinner featuring their beloved bourbons and whiskeys: Elijah Craig 12 year, Evan Williams single barrel, Bernheim wheat whiskey and Rittenhouse 100 proof rye. Each dish from Chef Forneas will be designed around its paired whiskey, so flavors will be highlighted in both the food and the drink. The menu includes BBQ Spice Pork Meatballs; BBQ-Glazed Black Cod; Braised Beef Cheeks; and Dried Fruit Bread Pudding.
