New Life on the Horizon for South Philly’s Triangle Tavern

A liquor license application popped up in the window of the Triangle Tavern at 1338 S 10th Street along East Passyunk. The pending license transfer shows that David Frank and Stephen Simons are behind the purchase of the license. Frank and Simons are behind Royal Tavern, Khyber Pass Pub, Cantina Los Caballitos and Cantina Dos Segundos. What is unclear is what their plan is for the 80-seat bar. We have a message into the ownership but haven’t heard anything back yet.

The Triangle Tavern is located at the corner of 10th and Reed, across from the Acme and would be a great stopping point for people who work up a thirst walking from the Garage to the Pub on Passyunk East.

This isn’t the first time the Triangle Tavern as well as Frank and Simons have been connected. A year ago Meal Ticket first reported the business partners interest in the bar.
