Really dissapointing. They knew they would be busy but service was awful and slow. The Screw Over was pretty much all Campari, very bitter and certainly not a well balanced cocktail. Definitely nothing to go out of my way for.

Yes I second this. Suddenly 5 minutes to 10 we were told the kitchen was closing. The server came back and told us they had run out of something. I ordered something else and her response was that the “kitchen was closed.” I would think if they screwed up and ran out of something they could at least replace it? Instead I ordered the fries and shisitos. Fries were thin and tasteless, just like McDonalds and had way too much salt on them. Our server was way too busy to ever check back on us and the food. Drinks took forever and she was not apologetic.

This was a great idea but an awful execution. I agree, the waitstaff was horrible. They were rude and got our drinks wrong twice. Some of the food was worth the trip though, but maybe next time they will be better prepared.

They don’t do service at any of their restaurants. It is a reflection of their ownership – they do not believe in treating the customer with respect. I have had some decent service at Barbuzzo, but the rest of the places act like they’re doing you a favor. I have had the bartenders openly role their eyes when I ordered from the late night menu (which they hide btw). At Jamonera while I was sitting at the bar I heard them openly mocking patrons. Sadly, they are one of the few reasonable and good late night options on a weekday. But I still won’t go.

I was upset that they wouldn’t allow our group to stand at the bar, despite being the second group in line prior to 10pm. Now that I have read these comments, I think we ended up having a better time outside of Opa.

OK sounds like I did well to stay away from this event.
Has anyone else noticed that in Philly event organizers tend not to be fully prepared for a large group? I seem to run into this experience regularly. It’s almost like everyone thinks they’re Sally Fields and are shocked that so many people would show up (“you really like us!”). It has this tone of fear-of-success to it.
From what I’ve seen, Philadelphians LOVE a special event and will generally show up in droves, so these promoters and organizers need to get on the ball and better prepare.

The staff was thoroughly unprepared and accusatory of the customers waiting in line. Despite arriving prior to 10pm, there being noticeable open bar/table spaces and being in the first 3 groups at the front of the line, the main hostess made it seem like it was our fault for having a group they were unable to accommodate. A simple apology would have sufficed. I don’t recommend going to any of the locations owned by this group.
