Whiskey For Breakfast: Village Whiskey Now Does Brunch

Because sometimes, you just need to start the day with a long pour of John Powers Irish, right? Because maybe you’re thinking that, since it is damn near impossible to get a decent seat at Jose Garces‘s whiskey bar during normal human drinking hours, maybe it’d be best to get a jump on things and hit the bar at 10:30 on a Sunday morning.

For those of you who missed the news, Village Whiskey is now serving brunch–which is really just an excuse to open the doors at 10:30am on Saturday and Sunday mornings and then run straight through lunch, dinner and late-night service. Yes, there’s a new menu in place for the daylight drinkers–eggs benedict, cheddar-and-bacon biscuits and gravy. french toast with bourbon-maple pecans and toasted coconut, and shrimp and grits with andouille-braised chard and a fried egg–and of course there are Bloody Marys to wash it all down with. But really, who in their right mind would waste time with vodka and tomato juice when there’s that whole wall of delicious brown liquors beckoning?

Whiskey: It’s what for breakfast.
