Bastille Day at Bistrot La Minette

Bistrot La Minette’s Peter Woolsey checks in with us and drops the 411 on what he has planned for Bastille Day this Sunday. The Queen Village bistro(t) is serving a four-course menu starting at 11:30 a.m. straight through to 9:30 p.m. for $40.

First course:

Vichyssoise Cold potato leek soup, herb puéee, croutons

Second course buffet:

Poivron Rôtis Oven-roasted peppers, olive oil, garlic confit, toast

Champignons à la Grecque Button mushrooms cooked in court bouillon with lemon and tomato

Rillettes de Canard Duck confit, croutons

Tapenade d’Olives Olives puréed with anchovies, capers and garlic

Cake aux Olives Savory olive and roasted pepper cake

Carottes Râpées Grated carrot salad, shallots, walnut vinaigrette

Salade des Tomates Sliced Roma tomatoes, basil, sherry vinegar, olive oil

Salade des Betteraves Red beets, orange vinaigrette

Salade Piémontaise Potato salad, ham, cornichons, crème fraiche

Terrine de Campagne Country-style paté, toasted brioche, Dijon mustard, cornichons

Salade d’Haricots Verts Green bean salad, toasted almonds

Quiche Lorraine Lardons, comté cheese

Salade des Lentilles Puy lentilles, brunois vegetables, vinaigrette

Third course choice of:

½ Roasted Chicken with tarragon jus
or
Filet of salmon with beurre blanc
or
Pan-seared pork chop with roasted garlic
or
Wild mushroom tart

Each choice served with gratin dauphinois, tomate provençal, and green beans cooked with shallots and butter

Dessert choice of:

Tarte à la Rhubarbe Rhubarb custard tart, apricot sorbet, strawberry coulis

Gâteau Opéra Multilayered almond sponge cake, coffee butter cream, chocolate ganache, vanilla Chantilly

From 11:30 – 3:30 Bistrot La Minette will also offer:

Omelette aux Duxelles de Champignons Three-egg omelette, mushroom duxelle, potatoes, salad

Steak et Œufs au Plat 4 oz. steak, eggs, red wine sauce, fingerlings, haricots verts

Œufs de Pêcheur Fisherman-style poached eggs, mussels, tarragon cream sauce
