Eat This Now: Righteous Felon Beef Jerky

You know it’s a good day when a guy shows up with free beef jerky. So today must be a really good day, because a guy showed up with an entire case of it.

Righteous Felon Jerky Cartel has been around since 2012, but somehow, we’re only trying it now. The company is based in West Chester and uses local, all-natural beef from Roseda Farm.

I’ve tried far more jerky than I probably should have, and to me, this is some of the best jerky on the market, especially their O.G. Hickory and Che-Potle Guevara varieties. Foobooz editor Jason Sheehan concurs, saying, “This is better than most of the stuff out there.” The lone dissenting Foobooz opinion is Art, who remains unconvinced. “I don’t love it,” says Art.

See for yourself. Righteous Felon Jerky is available at the El Bar, Bottle Bar, Fishtown Beverage, some of the Foodery locations, and at Chestnut Street’s Milkboy, where they’re giving away samples on Friday. Expect to pay $8 for a 2-ounce bag.
