Percy Street Is Out of the Comcast Center

Last Friday was the last day for the Percy Street BBQ at the Comcast Center. Steve Cook tells us that he has no further plans for the place, so don’t expect a Federal Donuts to pop up there. When asked if Percy Street might look for another storefront, Cook told us you never know, but that they’re “really excited about what Erin [O'Shea] is doing at the mother ship right now.”

I never knew they were there to begin with.

Maybe if they hadn’t dumbed down the menu repeatedly and began skimping on meat, they could have retained their customers.

Agreed. Went there twice. Was not impressed the first time (dry, skimpy meat and they got my order wrong), but went back because the idea of centrally located BBQ got the best of me. Exact same issues the 2nd time around as well and the workers there looked like they couldn’t care less.

The menu changes were a bit annoying, but I still felt you got a good deal with what they gave you. I think the problems were that BBQ is inherently a messy meal, and that does not fit well with the “grab and go” mentality of a lot of people that get their food there. It also was probably the least healthy option down there save for Panda and maybe the cheesesteak place.

Probably was a pain logistically too. The closing coincided with menu changes at the main location.
