Alla Spina GM Steve Wildy Doesn’t Eat Meat

In this week’s edition of the Wildy Weekly, Alla Spina general manager Steve Wildy revelas he is a pescetarian, which has to be some sort of special torment when you work at the pork-tastic Alla Spina. But now with spring (theoretically) upon us, chef Mike Deganis has rolled out a menu that is Wildy friendly. Fully a third of the menu is vegetarian, and roughly half is pescatarian friendly. There will still of course be those meaty faves, but nice to know you can now take your “weird-o” friends to Alla Spina.

I wonder if he drinks beer? Because they use the same (i.e. wrong) glasses for everything.

    • Alla Spina, like Eataly’s Birreria use the Teku glass, specifically designed by Teo Musso, founder of Italy’s Baladin Brewery. The glass is referred to as the universal beer glass because it was designed to enhance any beer.

Interesting. Also serves a nice excuse to make all pours 14oz.

        • Greg

A Teku Glass the perfect compliment to the type and quailty of beer served at Alla Spina. They also hold 12 oz not 14oz. You may be confused with the frosted glass you get at applebees for you Bud Light.

Yes a perfect compliment to Allagash White, Yards Brawler and Pikeland Pils. Surely these session brews are enhanced by 12oz pours at a price higher than most bars charge for full pints.

            barryg sweats the internet.

  • Water snob

They use the wrong glass for water also. Stupid dummies.

  • Alimentarian

I understand he makes an exception for horse meat.

I meet more and more pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan people every day. Glad to have restaurants that will accommodate!
