New Year’s Eve Plans for the Planning Averse


Fear making a commitment? Not into New Year’s Eve galas? Don’t own a black tie? Think NYE is full of amateurs? Here’s the last-second Foobooz guide for New Year’s Eve, geared for those who don’t want to make to big a deal of the night.

Cantina Dos Segundos – A $25 ticket gives you exclusive access to two hours of unlimited margaritas, well liquor, and selections from the beer list, including Dos Equis, Tecate, PBR, and more. You pick the two hours.

Cantina Los Caballitos – $25 gets you access to two hours of unlimited margaritas, mojitos, sangria, and selections from the beer list, including Dos Equis, bottled beers, and more.

Chick’s Social – A special a la carte menu is being offered. 10 p.m. seating will include a prosecco toast at midnight.

Frankford Hall – The beer hall will be offering a complimentary Schnapps toast at Midnight. Ja Ja Jas performing 8pm, 10pm, 11:15pm.

Hop Sing Laundromat – Lee promises nothing special at all. Just the same $12 cocktails as other nights.

Jet Wine Bar – It’s “Auld Lang Wine” at South Street’s wine bar. Sparkling wine by the bottle and glass. Special cocktails for $8 and tamales, yes tamales, for $3.50 each.

Johnny Brenda’s – If no cover, no drink specials and a DJ that won’t take requests is how you roll. Downstairs at Johnny Brenda’s is your bar.

McCrossen’s Tavern – No prix fixe, just specialty dishes and Growers Champagne poured by the magnum or the glass.

Nodding Head Brewery – No pricey packages, regular menu plus specials. Party favors and complimentary Champagne toast at midnight.

Resurrection Ale House – Complimentary Hanssens Oude Gueuze toast at Midnight!

Royal Tavern – The Royal continues they’re awesome pick your own open bar. $25 gets you two hours with a great selection of liquor and beer.

Standard Tap – No cover, live music plus Golden Monkey and Mad Elf specials.

Tria Cafe – Nothing special. Not entirely true, expect “cool bubbly and special cheese” but other than that, just another Monday at Tria.
