Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

    holy those baby hands….
    almost look photoshopped lol. Huge

    • cliff henny

reminded me of the ‘Man hands’ Seinfeld…when his date grabs the loster

      • Mr. Wu

        haha read my mind lmao

    • tom

      can the baby play safety?

      • G_WallyHunter

HAHA or long snapper, those hands look like they could do it already

      • Adam Banks

Probably tackles better than Nate Allen already

  • Johnny_P

Congrats to Lane Johnson on being a father. More incentive to work hard and play tough in the NFL, now that he has a family to support. This guy will be a stud at the tackle position for years to come. I think we will look back at the 2013 draft and say, ‘homerun pick’.

  • Mr. Wu

He wasn’t lying about those hands….good thing he didn’t have a girl she would have man hands

  • Adam

Lots of people hate on this pick, but the value speaks for itself.

    1. Upgrade at RT from day 1
    2. Also upgrade talent at RG
    3. Capable of playing LT if injury to JP
    4. LT of the future.

If he keeps his play at a high level, this was a solid pick.

    • Mr. Wu

well it was one PS game let’s not get carried away …..oh wait we are Eagles fans…never mind carry on

      • Adam

Played at a high level against the Patriots 1s. The most important thing is he didn’t look lost out there, and according to Kelly made next to no mental mistakes. Needs work on pass blocking but the physical stuff will come as he gets more NFL experience.

        • Mr. Wu

I know I saw it….lol. I am psyched about LJ no doubt.

    • Token

Its still a bad pick. But I get why they did it. Chip wanted his offense up and running ASAP. Defense can wait I suppose.

But, just because you are a good RT doesnt mean you are a good LT. I suspect we will find out sooner than later if he is our LT for the next 10 years.

When you consider though that Dion Jordan was who the pick would have been, then in that light I like the pick much more.

      • Mr. Wu

hey….it’s Captain Positive chiming in…. always such a pleasure

        • http://theadulttoysstore.com/ The Toy Goddess

Yes. Mr. Grumpy pants is nothing but consistent.

      • Adam

In your opinion, it’s a bad pick. You’re the minority on this one.

Chip has already said Lane is more at home at LT, and if he’s playing at a good level on the right side there’s no reason to think in time he can’t play well on the the left. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but neither is any of the other 31 first round picks chance of success.

Right because in your mind picking the safety that wasn’t even in the top ten of a weak draft class was the way to go. Is projection to LT isn’t based off of nothing. He played LT at a high level in college. He’d be playing LT now, but we have Peters. He is an immediate upgrade at a position of need and his presence upgrades the talent at RG and provides depth. I don’t think there was a better option at 4.

        • Token

Id have taken a play maker for the defense. Something we desperately need, over the 3rd best tackle in the draft who will be playing RT.

There are college LTs that end up being RTs in the NFL. Its not a given.

From the looks of it…. Barbre could have played RG with Todd staying at RT. It wasnt as big of a need as a top defensive player.

But I get the move, Chip wanted his offense running at full power. Thats fine. Hope the kid is a beast. But defense needs a ton of attention next year.

At Right Tackle Johnson’s protecting the QB’s blind side here in Phila. Vick is a left handed QB, Peters more than has Vick’s back on the left side of the offensive line. I think it’s important that Dennis Kelly matures into a viable Right Tackle for additional depth and it looks like Watkins has made giant leaps as a contributor and backup talent. I’m looking forward to minorting the play of the key backup linemen on both sides of the ball.

If it’s a bad pick, then tell us, who would have been a good pick at #4?

Finally, someone who knows the appropriate time and place to use “supersedes”. Take note, CW

    • A Roy

My grass is real thick because I superseded it.

    • A Roy

He wasn’t the first sede, but he was a supersede.

  • Scott J610

Hopefully he won’t have to leave for an extended period of time to pick out sconces.

I sucked it up and got the $15 package from nfl.com -Well, really it’s 20, but a promo code will get you $5. “directv”. Mostly because I’m gonna miss almost every game, and this lets you go back and watch any and all up until mid-September

  • A Roy

Concur. Better to take care of first things first. Needed a long term T, and preferably LT. Could be a 10 year stud. Pass rushers are shooting stars.
