Philly Cupcake Coming to 20th and South

The attractive and underused space at the southeast corner of 20th and South (it was a seldom open gallery) has a sign in the window that it will be opening as the second Philly Cupcake. The first location is at 1132 Chestnut Street and the team behind the cupcake shop has also opened Philly Chocolate at 1315 Walnut Street.

How do cupcake places stay open?

Looks like a burgeoning cup cake war on 20th. I personally don’t get how the cupcake trend has not faded into oblivion like leather jackets with tassles.

I’m really excited about this. I’m new to this site but was excited to see the signs and found this post when I did a search. Our neighborhood definitely needs something like this, and my kids are going bonkers already and it hasn’t even opened. It looks like the other sign on the window says they will have chocolate from the above mentioned Philly Chocolate, illy coffee which is my husband’s favorite (won’t have to go to DeBruno’s to get it anymore), and BASSETTS ICE CREAM!!!

  • Welcome to the neighborhood, Philly Cupcake!
