SoWe is the name of the bistro that will be replacing Divan Turkish Kitchen in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood this April. The restaurant and bar promises modern bistro cuisine with typical dishes like a burger, mussels and roast chicken. Menu prices will range from $7 to $15 for appetizers and into the mid-$20s for entrees. Craft beer and artisan wines will also be a focus of the fify-seat SoWe.
Owners Nancy Law and Troy Barton come to the business with marketing background. The business partners started Essential Media Partners in 2003, a company creates visitors guides, builds mobile websites and develops marketing tools for hotels, restaurants and attractions.
The name SoWe comes from one of the many names for the Graduate Hospital/G-Ho/Center City South/Southwest Center City area. The bar will be open seven days a week, offer late-night-happy hour and brunch on weekends.
