Chifa Hosting Allagash Beer Dinner


On Thursday, March 1st Chifa is hosting the nineteenth incarnation of its popular beer dinner series. For $65 per person, guests will sample Chifa’s Latin-Asian cuisine paired with beer from Allagash Brewery in Maine.

Chifa’s chef de cuisine Natalie Maronski is creating a menu that will include:

Oysters on the Half Shell with ‘mystery spice’ mignonette, ‘Allagash White’ foam and pink peppercorn dust
and<strong
Maine Mixto, bay scallops, charred calamari, white fish, shrimp, celery leche de tigre, jalapenos, red onion and mote

paired with Allagash White

Lobster Roll with rocoto aioli, bao bun, pickled vegetables and crispy shallots
and
Duck Confit Rice Dumpling with spicy duck sauce,

paired with Saison Mihm, brewed with local honey from Maine with botanical hints of lemongrass and juniper berries

‘Black’-Braised Lamb Shanks with berries and pan d’anis
and
Sweet Bean Stew

paired with Allagash Black, a Belgian-style stout

Curieux Whoopie Pies with Jim-Bean vanilla fluff

paired with Curieux, Allagash Tripel Ale aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels

Also pouring, Mattina Rossa, a rare sour beer from Allagash that was never officially released, which has an aroma of fresh raspberry, strawberry preserves and lemon rind.
