Philly Beer Week in Belgium

Philly Beer Week’s hotel in Brugges

This week several local beer luminaries are in Belgium to brew the 2012 Collaboration Beer with Brasserie Dupont. Back in November Philly Beer Week held a drawing  to send a lucky person on a beer trip to Belgium. Vince Masciandaro won and picked brewer Chris LaPierre of Iron Hill Maple Shade to accompany him to Belgium to be the head brewer for Philly Beer Week’s collaborative beer with Brasserie Dupont. This is the first time the Belgian brewer has ever done a collaborative beer.

It seems the pair has picked up more than a few traveling companions. Scoates from Grey Lodge, William Reed of Standard Tap/Johnny Brenda’s and Tom Peters of Monk’s Cafe have all made the trip. Even Craig LaBan is along for the fun and he’s blogging the trip on Philly.com.
