Mini Trini Brings Trinidadian Fare to Philly

Mother and daughter team Claudette Campbell and Iman Marcano-Sowell have been serving Trinidadian food at Calypso in the Chestnut Hill Farmers’ Market for years. Now they have started a food truck, The Mini Trini. The food truck is stationed at Love Park on Mondays and Thursdays and serves up roti, bak and saltfish, sweet potato fritters and more. Prices run from $3 to $13.

We were able to try out a couple of the dishes yesterday and found them both be tasty and different lunch options. We can’t say the same about the Mauby, which ma be a popular drink in Trinidad, but its aniseseed flavor threw us for a loop.
