Oktoberfest Week at Brauhaus Begins Today


There’s no place in Philadelphia to truly celebrate Oktoberfest like Brauhaus Schmitz. The German bar and restaurant has a full week of fun and games leading up to their South Street closing festival set for Saturday.

Check out the other events planned for the week:

Monday 9/19 – Oktoberfest Flight Night (All night) – Sample 10 different German and American Oktoberfest style beers.

Tuesday 9/20 – German Beer Quizzo (8p.m.) – Drink liters, and show off your knowledge of German Pop Culture and beer.

Wednesday 9/21 – Spaten/Franziskaner Party (7 p.m.) – Come out and party with Spaten/Franziskaner. There will be giveaways and beer special. Grand prize is a Franziskaner bicycle.

Thurday, 9/22 – Bratwurst Eating Contest (8 p.m.) – $10 to participate, limited to the first 20 people who sign up on the night of the event.

Friday, 9/23 – Kick the Keg Lottery (All-night) – If your beer kicks the keg it’s free and you get an Oktoberfest Survival Kit.

Saturday, 9/24 – Oktoberfest Street Party (12 p.m.) – Brauhaus Schmitz’s biggest festival yet. South Street will be shut down and the party will go all day with live oompah music, a pig roast and lots of great German beer.
