Weekend: Sessions, & NFL Kickoff

Friday

Check out the Farmers’ Cabinet’s two-day session beer festival. 26 beers under 4.5%. Thirteen tonight, thirteen tomorrow? Still sounds like a bad idea, but we’ve heard worse.

Sugar High hosted by Duff Goldman was recently in Philadelphia for a show and it premieres tonight at 10:30 pm. The episode features Sugar Truck, Brown Betty, and Rim Cafe. Rim Cafe will be hosting a viewing party and will be offering all the dishes featured on the show. Brown Betty will serve the rice pudding, Rim Cafe will offer hot chocolate, and Sugar Truck will dish out their macarons.

Saturday

Mike Stollenwerk’s Little Pig event was a big success at Little Fish. So big it’s getting bigger outside of Fathom. $35 gets you an all-you-can-eat pig roast that features four whole pigs, blue crabs, steamed mussels mac and cheese, $2 Narrangansett draughts and other drink specials. The fun kicks off at noon.

Across the street Johnny Brenda’s is hosting its all day Pils Picnic.

Sunday

The NFL season gets into full swing with a full slate of games including the Eagles at 1 p.m. versus the Rams. It also means it is time for the annual question, where do you like to watch games? Perhaps we’ll make it out to Misconduct Tavern which has plenty of TVs and often has craft beer specials or just around the corner at Jose Pistola’s where it seems the whole staff are diehard fans. Or perhaps this is the year we head to Big Charlie’s and hang out with Chiefs fans. We’ve been threatening to do this since Christian Okoye was running over defenders. Or maybe this year will be like last and we’ll nurse ourselves back to life after Saturday night from the couch as we watch the NFL’s RedZone channel.

Come out to Varga Bar after 9 p.m. for Lefthand Brewing’s Reality TV night. Dress like your favorite reality TV star and get $3 Left Hand drafts and $3 whiskey shots. Sounds like it’s “T-shirt time.”
