Our Time and Liver Bending Picks for the Weekend

Damn the liver, damn the budget, damn the time-space continuum, damn the women and children. Without limits, these are Philly Beer Week events we most want to check out this weekend.

June 3

An unheard of 25 Mikkeller beers will be at Farmers’ Cabinet starting today at 3 p.m. The Danish brewery receives plenty of praise, check them out all in one place.

We wouldn’t and won’t miss the Opening Tap. If not for the ridiculous pageantry then for the great local beers, including these winners.

Afterwards there are several official and unofficial Opening Tap after parties. We’re committed to drinking some Ballast Point beers this Beer Week so we’ll be heading to check out this draft list at the Khyber Pass Pub.

June 4

Last Beer Week we developed a serious man crush on Stillwater Artisanal Ales Brian Strumske. He and his beers will be at Teresa’s Next Door along with a great selection of beers from 12% Percent and the Shelton Brothers Importers. Some truly great and rare beers will be pouring.

We’ll also be taking in the Varga Bar Pin Up Block Party. Last year the weather was incredibly hot, tomorrow’s forecast looks a lot more promising. 22 beers will be on tap.

Then we’ll be heading over to Johnny Brenda’s where we’ll be hanging out with Black Landlord. MAxx and his all-star band are scheduled to go on at 11:15 p.m.

June 5

The Philadelphia Cheese Experiment brings cheese, Brooklyn beer and amateur chefs together. Luckily you can’t really mess up cheese.

Lost Abbey’s Tomme Arthur will be at Monk’s Cafe on Sunday afternoon. We’ll be by for some of his special kegs.

And then we will rest because Monday will be here before you know it.
