Best New Restaurants Bracket

We hope you enjoyed voting in the Best Burger bracket. Look for the winner in August’s Best of Philly edition of Philadelphia magazine. Next up is the Best New Restaurants bracket.

The past year has seen some significant openings in Philadelphia but which is the best? Is it one of the splashy debuts like Adsum, Barbuzzo, Dandelion, JG Domestic or Talula’s Garden? Or could it be one of the quieter openings by respected chefs like Chip Roman’s Mica, Peter McAndrew’s Monsu or Joshua Lawler’s The Farm and Fisherman?

It’s up to you to decide in Philadelphia magazine’s latest Best of Philly bracket.

I’ve never complained much about garces but jg domestic served me the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. a pile of fries and a few burnt bits of fish. in fact, the lunch plain sucks outside the very tasty chicken sandwich. I’d trade that restaurant for an outpost of barbuzzo in a heartbeat.

How is Han Dynasty NOT on this list?

  • Buckethead

Han Dynasty has been open for over a year now, it’s not new.

I know it’s a bar, but Khyber Pass Pub is my favorite over all of these, although I haven’t been to Mica, Monsu or Talula’s Garden yet. And if Barbuzzo was a bit less expensive it might be my favorite.

  • Finicky

Jess, You must be their publicist because Khyber Pass Pub is disgustingly dirty and serves microwaved artery cloggers. Barbuzzo is by far the best restaurant

  • Snake

There was a lot of buzz here and elsewhere about Khyber but I didn’t like the food and the crowd and beer selection was better looking at Mac’s.

@Payyourtax dunno his tax situation but they definitely take credit cards, as they do at all of his other establishments.

Don’t want to turn this into a pissing match, but the Khyber is great. I think Barbuzzo is the best new restaurant, but the Khyber has definitely made it’s mark here over the past few months.
