Weekend: Indoors or Out, a Busy Saturday

Friday

Joe Sixpack profiles rye beer in his column today. Join him this evening to sample some rye beers at Bell Beverage between 4 and 6 p.m.

Saturday

The weather is questionable but there’s plenty to do. Memphis Taproom is opening its beer garden and food truck with a big bash. Check out their site for the low down on the craft beer cans and tasty hot dog menu.

Shadfest is optimistic about the weather and has quite the lineup of entertainment and food. Be sure to stop by the Johnny Brenda’s booth for shad and soft shell crab sandwiches.

The Institute is hosting a fried chicken picnic featuring the beers and brewers of BrewWorks.

If you’re a fan of barleywines  and other strong beers then be aware that it is the annual Split Thy Skull event at Tattooed Sugar Mom’s. More than ten big beers will be pouring, just pick a designated driver (SEPTA) ahead of time.

Sunday

It’s Easter Sunday and that could mean brunch, or it could mean dinner with family but it definitely means Zombie Bar Crawl.
