Friday

JG Domestic has received a 35 pound giant octopus caught off the coast of Alaska 48 hours ago. The 9 foot long behemoth will be poachedin red wine vinegar, lemon, chile, garlic and spices. Then it will be sliced to-order, given a simple sear and garnished with potato confit, green chile and lemon. The dish is $16 and will be available tonight.

Saturday

Oyster House is offering Oysters 101 classes each Saturday in January from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Learn the difference between East and West Coast oysters to proper shucking techniques. Classes cost $30 per person and reservations are required. All “graduates” will receive a “Eat Oysters, Love Longer”  t-shirt.

Just upstairs from Oyster House, Nodding Head is hosting another of its special second Saturday events at 3pm. They team at Nodding Head is calling this one Ice Capades and they will be pouring special versions of Oh Tay, Bill Payer Ale and Sled Wrecker beers.

Sunday

Sunday’s Sunday Supper is usually the first Sunday of the month but with the New Year it was postponed to this Sunday. The meal will feature some favorite winter dishes.
