Sweetgreen Coming to Suburban Square

A salads and tart fro-yo shop to open in Ardmore

Suburban Square will be home to the first Philly-area branch of Sweetgreen, a Washington D.C.-based salad and tart frozen yogurt mini-chain, come December.

The environmentally friendly store (Compostable packaging? Check. Local, sustainably-sourced ingredients? Totes. The use of solar panels and wind energy? Yep.) will serve a menu of specialty salads like the Sabzi (baby spinach with spicy quinoa, white beans, raw beets, radish, basil, sprouts, dried cranberries; topped with a carrot chili vinaigrette) or you can build your own. They also serve frozen yogurt of the trendy, tart variety (think Phileo-style) at $4 for a small or $6 for a large. The price includes three toppings.

The store, which is going into the Suburban Square space previously occupied by Zinman Furs, hopes to be open by the first week of December.
