East Falls candlelit Fork & Barrel is hosting its grand opening party this evening. Dominique Friart, owner of St. Feuillien will be on hand and a special 9 Liter bottle of St. Feuillien Triple from 2005 will be tapped at 6pm.

Saturday

We’re super excited for Bloktoberfest on the 2000 block of Christian Street tomorrow. We’re official sponsors and we will have Foobooz t-shirts available for purchase at the merchandise table. Shirts will be $15 with $5 going to the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Saturday night, well that’s game one of the National League Championship Series featuring one crazy good pitching match-up.

Sunday

Square 1682 is hosting a Cheesesteak Challenge and block party from 3 to 5pm. Admission is $20 and nine top chefs will be serving their interpretations on Philadelphia’s classic sandwich.

We were at South Philadelphia Taproom’s first Farmhouse Ales dinner and we loved it. You should go this time around.

And then on Sunday night as the Phillies battle the Giants Marc Vetri will be throwing down with Michael Symon on Iron Chef America.
