Homegrown Cheesesteaks

Steve Poses of Frög Burger and author of the book At Home by Steve Poses is partnering with Philly Homegrown to give away cheesesteaks to 1,000 people at the Mayor’s Farmers Market at Love Park tomorrow at 11am. What makes this cheesesteak unique is that all its ingredients come from a 100-mile radius of Philadelphia.

Poses also provides the fresh and local recipe on his blog with detailed directions on making this tasty looking cheesesteak.

not really a pepper-on-my-steak guy; some Kennett Square mushrooms would be nice as an option

I hope all the farmers at tomorrow’s market are paying their Business Privilege Tax, or else you might just get a ticket.

Sorry Steve, these are not real cheesesteaks. Bell peppers and colby cheese are no-nos, and suateeing beef in a skillet? You gotta be kidding. Nice roll, though.

Great time when the homeless are cutting the line over and over again and the clueless PR girls are doing nothing to stop it… Even better when they are giving out cheesesteaks to their friends in the biz right in front of the poor suckers in the hundred person deep line. Nightmare.
