Summer Grilling Menus at Bar Ferdinand and Fork

Multi-course grill & beer deals for the season of smoke and char

‘Tis the season for perfectly charred steak, seared seafood, and smoked duck. Sadly, most of us don’t have behemoth grills (or backyards to put them in). But, Bar Ferdinand and Fork are both offering special summer grilling menus to fulfill all your grilled meat cravings.

Bar Ferdinand’s Steer and Beer Dinner on Thursday, June 24 — a grilled ode to local ingredients — will feature Black Angus beef from Green Meadow Farm and craft beer from River Horse Brewing Co. The Northern Liberties restaurant will serve their signature tapas-sized bites at this  five-course, five-beer, $65 dinner. The beef-centric menu includes a roast beef bocadillo with horseradish aioli and beef jus, paired with River Horse Lager; and seared scallops over beef shank ragu with saffron spatzle and asparagus a la plancha, paired with Special Mild English Ale. Call 215-923-1313 for reservations, or visit barferdinand.com.

If Steer and Beer sounds a little too meaty, head to Fork beginning on July 1 to try their summer grilling menu. The bistro’s three-course, $40 tasting menu will feature local summer produce in dishes like smoked duck breast with pickled cherries, hazelnuts, and baby greens. A free pint of Fists of Feury — the special brew created by Victory Brewing and chef-brothers Patrick and Terence Feury — will complement the meal.
