Several readers have alerted us to the liquor license application in the window at 969 N 2nd Street, the former headquarters of Tower Investments and just next to the Piazza at Schmidt’s.

The name on the license application is Tendenza and one of the principles listed is “Joseph Wolpe.” Further research finds that Tendenza is a corporation registered at 923 N 2nd Street, the home of Cescaphe Ballroom, owned by Joseph Volpe. From what we’ve learned about PLCB record-keeping, we’d expect that Wolpe=Volpe.

Attempts to get more details have been unsuccessful so far. We’re intrigued if this will just be another a catering space or if it might be doing similar to Cooperage which is also owned in part by Volpe.
