UCity Gets A New Sports Bar

Mikey’s American Grill & Sports Bar is now open in University City at 3180 Chestnut Street, providing another option to watch game 5, part 2 this evening.

The former Ecco Qui space in the Left Bank Building has been transformed into a industrial feeling sports bar with eight 50″ flat screen TVs pumping out the best that DirecTV and Comcast have to offer including all the sports packages from the NHL to college basketball.

The menu will include Mikey’s burger, 8 ounces of beef, 4 ounces of corned beef topped with coleslaw, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. More than 50 varieties of bottled beer will also be available.

  • Those guys were so under the radar with their opening. Will probably do a killing.

  • What a blast! Great food + friendly waiters, + energetic crowd = great time had by all!

It didn’t look bad, but this notion they have “all the relevant sports packages” is a lie. I tried to get them to show a not-too-hard to find game on a dead night and they wouldn’t/claimed to not get the channel. Cavanaugh’s at 39th+Sansom is the best in the West.

This is not your typical sports bar folks. It is trendy, clean, and their menu is very diverse.
I recommend the burger with the sweet potato fries. You won’t be disappointed.

Parking is a cinch. The meters only go until 8 which is perfect for game time on any week night.

If you ask the wait staff for anything they are more then willing to do it. I asked them to put on a game and they did. Maybe it is just “how” you ask.

The burgers are good and are better than other restaurants near Drexel. I would recommend Mikey’s Burger.. can’t find it anywhere. The sauces they bring out with fries are so good and are a great variety. I have brought friends and colleagues from work over and they have no complaints. The space is bright and inviting. I would recommend going for Happy Hour. They have $3 drafts and their beer selection is wide.

Great food and drink specials. The Triple Play is perfect for a night out with a group of friends. There’s always a ton of people and the servers make you feel at home. A fun, friendly neighborhood spot!!!!

Awesome Food and Drink Specials!!! Whether your chilling at the bar watching game or looking for an all night party, Mikey’s is the place. Bartenders are always attentive and you never have to worry about waiting for a refill. The nachos are top notch and the BBQ chicken pizza is the best in town. This new kid on the block is sure to please!

Mikey’s is my new favorite sports bar in the area. My friends and I went Superbowl weekend and the whole experience was perfect. There were many beers to choose from and the food was great, we got a few appetizers to split during the game, nachos, chicken fingers, onion rings etc. your typical “Superbowl” food and it was all something I would get again. The place was crowded but the staff was very friendly and accomodating. This is definately a place worth checking out!

Umm, doesn’t the management have better things to do that post transparent efforts to pump the place on blogs?

  • Chris

Why so cynical Dan? Maybe Anna, Philly C and Lizzie all just discovered Mikey’s and were so blown away that they just had to search up a 3 month old post on Foobooz to praise it in effulgent yet banal Zagat-prose riddled with misspellings and bad grammar.

    Or maybe not.

I think their posts could have used more exclamation points!!!
