Countdown to Philly Beer Week: Day 13-10

The clock is ticking and we’re getting thirstier and thirstier in anticipation of Philly Beer Week, the event that shall not be gently–oh so gently!–criticized.

Despite being called a lightweight by none other than Joe Sixpack (which is sort of an honor) we forge onwards, hacking our way through the briarpatch of events to help you find which are worthwhile. Pace, Señor Sixpack…
What’s better than afternoon drinking? How about afternoon drinking with Lancaster Brewing beers? On Sunday March 9th, from 1-4p.m., you can partake of specials on Lancaster Brewing beers at Johnny Brenda’s.

Or you could head to Devil’s Alley instead from noon to 3 p.m. for a five-course tasting:

With savory BBQ from chef MichaelYeamans, prepared with cocoa and chocolate and paired with fine craft beer. Special guests: Carol Stoudt, Stoudt’s Brewing; Jim Javenkoski, Unibroue; Lucy Saunders, author of “Grilling with Beer.”

On Wednesday, March 12th, you could dork out again with beer nerd quizzo at the South Philadelphia Tap Room. There’s a North Coast happy hour from 5-8p.m. with quizzo from 8-10p.m. And something very similar (North Coast and beer trivia) at 9p.m. at the POPE.
