There once was a time when Mardi Gras was a big deal in Philadelphia. A time before radio stations started broadcasting from bars at 6 am and riots broke out on South Street. Those days were fun. But now there’s next to nothing going on. Copa on South doesn’t even call it Mardi Gras anymore but the Cinco de Febrero instead. They’re having live Cajun music. Or head to the Mexican Post at 1601 Cherry where they are offering gumbo for $3.50 and $3 margaritas all day. We’ve all had a Mexican Post phase, maybe yours will start tonight.
