Report: DeSean Signs With Segal, Not Jay Z

Even though he released a rap video earlier this week, DeSean Jackson will not join Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports.

Instead, he has signed on with agent Joel Segal, according to Liz Mullen of the Sports Business Journal. Segal also reps Jackson’s teammate, Michael Vick.

Jackson parted ways with Drew Rosenhaus last month. Yahoo Sports reported that Rosenhaus has filed a grievance, alleging that Jackson owes him more than $400,000.

As Tim pointed out back in May, Jackson is pretty much in a contract year. The Eagles can either part ways with him or re-structure his deal if they feel he isn’t going to be a fit going forward. So while on the surface it may seem like he doesn’t have an immediate need for an agent, that could change quickly.

Jackson has had an eventful offseason. He was demoted during the spring and had to have a one-on-one meeting with Chip Kelly. The Jackson family announced the release of a telling documentary that chronicled the wide receiver’s path to the NFL.

We mentioned the new rap video above. And earlier this week, Jackson predicted Vick would end up winning the starting quarterback job.
