Eagles Add Wide Receiver; Surgery For Johnson

With injuries striking at wide receiver, The Eagles  signed wideout Andrew Brewer and waive/injured Ron Johnson.

Brewer played at Northwestern with Mike Kafka before spending two seasons in the UFL with the Omaha Nighthawks, where he caught passes from Jeff Garcia. All sorts of connections. The 6-3, 215-pound Tulsa native will be eligible to participate in practice with the team on Friday. The move is thought to be for camp depth only.

Johnson, meanwhile, underwent surgery Tuesday to correct a fracture and dislocation of the left ankle. This after a troubling scene unfolded at Lehigh Monday, when Johnson fell awkwardly in the open field and badly twisted his foot.
