The Overview: Scoop DeVille, a stuck-in-a-time-warp ice-cream parlor that serves 17 percent butterfat Potts Ice Cream — Bassetts second label — has very few flavors. First-time patrons get a little pitch from the counterman: "Pick an ice-cream flavor from the center board, and add mix-ins from the left and right boards. We can create virtually any flavor you can imagine." The mix-ins — more than 50 — include fruit (blueberries, raspberries), cookies (Oreo, chocolate chip) and candies (Heath Bar Crunch, m&ms).
