Modo Mio
161 West Girard Avenue
Philadelphia, PA 19123
#29 on the Philly Mag 50
Rustic homemade bread, ethereally light gnocchi, veal cheeks enlivened with gremolata, and indulgent chocolate-filled crespele are just a few of the lures this BYOB dangles. Even better, the dishes can be sampled either in a $32 four-course menu or à la carte. The kitchen is occasionally careless and the service often clueless, but when everything is clicking, it’s irresistible.

Review
Both pasta dishes and the sausage stuffed steak were so salty that they were not edible. The server admitted that the chef was going overboard with the salt. This was on a Saturday night. On our previous visit on a Thursday, everything was great, especially the pasta and roasted pork. We felt bad for the other 2 couples with us Saturday night for the lousy meal.
