The Overview
In spite of being ransacked by the British army after the Battle of the Brandywine, the Dilworthtown Inn has survived gloriously into the 21st century, its colonial ambience intact. Fifteen quaint candlelit dining rooms breathe the charm of uncontrived history, while a recently updated menu boasts dishes like lobster macaroni and cheese – made with strozzapretti pasta, baby arugula and fontina cream. More conservative standards—Chateaubriand for two, Dilworthtown crabcakes—are done here in the grand manner. A favorite place for big occasions.
