Pennsylvania Art Conservatory
Profile
This petite, three-year-old Chestnut Street gallery focuses on American and European impressionist and modernist paintings ranging from $500 to $100,000, while their larger, 30-plus-year-old Berwyn-based restoration studio can bring oil paintings and antique frames back to life. If you’re worried about UV rays damaging valuable art, see gallery director Thom Duffy, who recommends hanging thematically arranged works on paper in a dark hallway. That way, the art will benefit from being away from destructive light, and the hallway benefits from the beauty of the art. Everybody wins.
