Dr. Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD is unique among his peers. He is a Periodontist who also has a degree in Medicine. He received his dental degree from Temple University, graduating with honors. He completed his graduate training in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and received his Medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (Drexel University) graduating with honors.

Dr. Rose is currently Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Drexel University, College of Medicine, where he has been given the Alumni Achievement Award. He is also on the faculty of New York University School of Dentistry.

His contributions to both the dental and medical professions have been recognized and documented by numerous peer societies. Dr. Rose is President of both the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the Northeast Society of Periodontists. He is also Director of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Rose is a renowned national and international expert and lecturer on Periodontics, Implant Dentistry and Medicine. He has published extensively on these subjects, writing the textbooks: Internal Medicine for Dentistry, Periodontal Medicine and Periodontics: Medicine, Surgery and Implants, which has been required reading in many Dental Schools. He is also on the editorial board of several Dental journals and he is Editor-in-Chief of the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.

Dr. Rose maintains a private practice in Philadelphia limited to Periodontics and Implant dentistry, focusing on oral health as it relates to a person’s overall health. His training in both Dentistry and Medicine make him uniquely qualified to understand and treat a patient’s needs, and his extensive expertise in Periodontics and Implant dentistry is recognized worldwide. Dr. Rose’s practice is focused on helping patients achieve optimum oral health, by maintaining healthy gums and teeth, providing implants when necessary, and creating an esthetically pleasing smile.
