[ORIGINAL] A 23-year-old Northeast Philadelphia man is facing several charges related to an incident on the Community College of Philadelphia’s campus Wednesday. Witnesses say 23-year-old Ryan Fitch walked into a CCP chemistry class and pulled a gun on another student. No shots were fired, and no one was injured.

Classes resume Thursday at Community.

Action News reports the school went on lockdown after the students reported the alleged incident in the chemistry class. “I was scared because I’ve never been through a situation like this before so I didn’t know what was going to happen,” student David Fowler told the station.

Channel 6 also caught up with the suspect’s mother, who says it was a misunderstanding, and that her son felt disrespected during a dispute. The facts in this case aren’t completely clear yet, but “being disrespected” would seem to be a bad reason to pull a gun on someone in front of a bunch of witnesses.
