Temple School of Medicine Renamed for Lewis Katz

Lewis Katz pledged $25 million to Temple last fall in a surprise announcement. Now, the school has announced where the money is going.

Temple has announced where the $25 million Lewis Katz surprisingly pledged to donate last fall is headed: The Temple School of Medicine, which will be renamed in Katz’s honor.

“To me, putting Lewis Katz’s name on Temple’s School of Medicine is about so much more than any one pledge,” said Temple Board of Trustees Chairman Patrick J. O’Connor in a statement. Katz is a 1963 graduate of the school and has been on the board of trustees since 1998.

Katz, of course, is locked in litigation over ownership of the Inquirer and Daily News. He used to own the Nets and Devils.
