Philly’s Delphic Digital Acquired by Silicon Valley Firm

The company now has the capacity to rival larger digital agencies like SapientRazorfish.

Not long after expanding its Manayunk headquarters, customer experience agency Delphic Digital has announced that it’s joining forces with the Silicon Valley agency Hero Digital.

The acquisition is big for the local agency of 77 employees that has plans to grow its team in the coming year. Delphic says the acquisition will create an independent customer experience agency serving North America, with the capacity to rival larger firms like Accenture, Deloitte and SapientRazorfish.

Though the combined company will bring 200 employees together on two coasts, Delphic says the acquisition won’t impinge on its agility and client service intimacy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“From the employee perspective, this partnership pulls together an incredibly deep and diverse set of people, matched with a best in class culture—making Hero Digital an exceptional place to work,” said Delphic managing partner Mark Patten.

“We are looking forward to having the power of Hero behind us to accelerate results for our clients,” added Delphic managing partner Lance Hollander.

Founded in 2004, Delphic is repeatedly named one of the fastest-growing businesses in the area as a three-time Inc. 5000 digital marketing and web design agency. When it expanded its headquarters in May by about 3,000 square feet, it did so as a nod to its continued growth. (And Mayor Kenney dropped by to celebrate.) The company experienced over a 40 percent increase from 2015 to 2016.

Though Delphic says it doesn’t have plans to expand in Center City, its exit is a boon for Philly tech. With its location, the borders of the local community are expanded, so too are the number of Philly tech workers as more jobs open up.

Some of Delphic’s notable clients include American Standard, Comcast, Aramark and Universal Health Services. Hero brings major global brands like Salesforce, Western Digital and Belkin to the deal.

In a blog post, Hero’s CEO Dave Kilimnik said, “When I met the team at Delphic, I quickly realized we had the same approach to customer success. Which signaled a clear opportunity to join forces.”

In a statement he added, “ Like us, Delphic has an uncanny love for crafting memorable customer experiences. The addition of Delphic to our team at Hero Digital enables us to offer our growing client base best-in-class expertise across every part of their brand journey.”
