Love Me Knot

PM_bain_de_terre.jpgI am one of those girls who is constantly longing for other girls’ hair. Longing as in I wish their hair were on my head, and that my fine, thin, limp hair were elsewhere (notice how I so nicely did not wish it upon them?).

One of my main troubles concerns knots, and the ease with which my hair engages itself in them. One second outside and there are tangles; a whole day and there is, as my mother used to so lovingly call it as she ripped through it while I cried, a rat’s nest.

In order to ease my plight, I douse my head after every shower in leave-in detangler. I like to switch it up, lest my hair get used to and outsmart any particular detangling formula, much like how they keep saying we should stop taking so many antibiotics these days, lest our diseases become immune to their healing power. And, just last week, I found myself happy to find another option to throw into my Dove Replenishing Mist/Johnson & Johnson No More Tangles/Aussie Leave-in Hair Insurance routine: Bain de Terre’s Prime Time Chamomile Styling Foundation.

It meets all my requirements: It comes out in a superfine mist, smelling pleasant and fresh; once my hair is dry I can’t tell it was ever there (no weighing down or building up); and it makes my brush slip right through my evil knots. I hope it enjoys its new real estate in my mirrored cabinet.

Bain de Terre Prime Time Chamomile Styling Foundation, $12, at Trade Secret and Ulta stores, various locations; tradesecret.com; ulta.com.
