Tuesday’s Desperate Measure: Story Slam at L’Etage
First Person Arts is back with their sometimes hilarious monthly Story Slam, wherein real people (like you) get up on stage and tell a (supposedly) true story about their lives, fitting in with the month’s theme. This month, it’s The Road Not Taken, “stories of missed opportunity, narrowly avoided catastrophe, and fortuitous coincidence.” If you’re getting a vibe like the one emitted from NPR’s This American Life, you’re on the right frequency. There are judges, and there’s a winner, who doesn’t really win much of anything, but that’s not really the point. The Story Slams are known to sell out (L’Etage is tiny, after all), so get there early. 7:30 p.m.; $5 to $10.
