Taste of Yazmin

1208283546Warminster isn’t exactly the culinary capital of the Philadelphia metro area, but because my mother lives there, I’m often looking for a decent place to grab a bite to eat. So I was excited to see Yazmin set up shop. Chef Simon Vong has experience at Susanna Foo and the food is billed as fusion, but most dishes are slightly upscale versions of Chinese take out favorites. The kitchen turns out General Tso’s Chicken with large chunks of battered and fried white meat in that familiar sticky-sweet sauce. Shrimp with cashews is tossed in spicy Kung Pao sauce with celery and red peppers.

The restaurant ventures out of Chinese territory with solid renditions of pad Thai and curried chicken, though my advice would be to order your regular takeout standby — and get it to go. I guarantee your place has a better vibe than this strip-mall dining room.
