Condiments won’t stop Little Leaguers: A Little League club in Camden was vandalized over the weekend, but thanks to two donors, not a game will be missed. $20.5 million award for lipo gone wrong: A Philadelphia family was awarded $20.5 million by a jury seven years after their daughter died as a result of liposuction surgery. Eighteen-year-old Amy Fledderman died in May 2001 when a blood vessel in her neck was severed and her plastic surgeon and anesthetist failed to realize the problem. [6 ABC]
You might consider a G-string tax too: Republican state Rep. Paul Clymer is attempting to levy a $5 “pole tax” to enter Pennsylvania strip clubs. This fee will be added to admission and will go to Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. Clymer claims establishments like nude and topless dancing bars are to blame for “the problems of prostitution, drug and alcohol abuse and questionable characters.” Will someone please buy this guy a lap dance? A similar law has already been ruled unconstitutional in Texas on First Amendment grounds. [Intelligencer]
